About the chef


Keel Catering was established in 2007 by chef and owner Raychel O'Keeffe based in South West Mayo region. Raychel has over 17 years of practical cooking experience, and formal training from Hotel School Galway Mayo Institute of Technology (GMIT), and completed further culinary studies at Ballymaloe, The Cooks Academy, and the Organic Centre, Ireland. My love of food and cooking came to me at a very early age, this combined with travel experience has inspired me, and is the basis for my understanding of flavours, spices, and good taste. I believe good food stems from fresh ingredients, and I have a particular interest in foraging for wild food and seaweeds from land and sea. My quest to learn more about food is never ending, and I consider myself very lucky to be living in an area where I can pick wild juniper berries or sloes to compliment an abundance of wild game. I also have the best fresh water fish on my door step on Lough Mask, noted for Wild Brown Trout and an array of seaweed and fresh seafood from the West Coast of Ireland. I also have added experience in PR and event Management and a portfolio of public and private events I have catered for in Ireland. I have handpicked a kitchen and service team with worldwide experience to cater for your needs whether it's a private dinner party, a public event, or ceremony we can offer quality, value, top-notch customer service and a personal touch. We also can provide event management services and entertainment, transportation, or photographer to make your event a special one to remember.

Keel Catering can cater for all kinds of events. Whatever you are looking for: an informal family party gathering like a communion or confirmation, a special birthday, Anniversary, retirement party, corporate event, we understand what it takes to make your event unique. Keel Catering offers 2 types of catering 1. DOOR TO DOOR 2. DROP OFF SERVICE we can supply the perfect combination of personal service and excellent food brought to your door of your house and with added service to your guests. Or we can drop off the food and provide the heating equipment and collect it next day. Customers can choose from our standard type menu, a customised menu around your needs, or we have tasty choices of finger food for office party platters and cocktail parties.

Party Package & Accommodation at Keel Lodge

Our busy lives allow us less time to spend with our friends and family. We offer your party group a personalised VENUE at Keel Lodge, with sleeping accommodation for 10 people, and our kitchen team will design a customised menu for your event.
